EMERGENCY STEPS

Kick-starting The Blog
1. Refresh (F5) or Ctrl-F5
2. Clear cache (delete temporary Internet files) and cookies in Tools-Internet Options.
3. Add a question mark to the end of your blog's internet address in the address box and see if it will show the latest update. (Can also be done with other people's url's in the address window.)
4. Republish (if in classic Blogger)
5. Reboot
6. Log out and log back in again (may change to an untroubled server)
7. Change browser (IE, Firefox, others)

Blogger may make problems for some computers about accepting cookies, especially when you are using the new versions of Internet Explorer or Firefox browsers. Difficulties with accepting scripts may be caused by security systems, antivirus programs, firewalls, and some add-ons. Check all your settings.

You may need to change your browser settings, or to list www.blogger.com and blogger.com as "trusted sites" in your Internet Options-Security so that scripting can occur.

Line Breaks

When "Enter" doesn't make a new line
or, WHERE'S MY PARAGRAPHS?!

1. go to Dashboard
2. click "Change Settings"
3. click "Formatting"
4. find "Convert line breaks" and click it to "Yes"
5. go to bottom and Save your change.

Beware of cached versions, either in your computer memory or elsewhere. Delete the cookies, clear the cache. If the above doesn't work, there may be times when a quick and dirty fix will do, that is, to make lines break with <br />.

    <{p}> will also work ... also no closing required. Just put it or the <{br}> where you want a space to appear. Take the ( ) out when you use them ... I had to put them in to get this to print.

    this is happening to me and the line converter is checked as yes. i have to go into the html and enter the br manually which takes a lot of time. does anyone know how to do this just by pressing enter. otherwise all of my posts mash together.

    I'm not sure what it could be. I'd certainly see what happens if you turn the line breaks off, then back on again. Otherwise, you possibly have some glitch that only Blogger Support could help you with. They aren't prompt, and may take several days to answer you with a human instead of auto-response.

    I was wondering if anyone found out a "fix" for the line break thing, other than manually entering html? I am having the same problem, and have the settings correct. I had this problem months ago and got so aggrevated with it that I havent added nothing to my blog. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    so i also am having trouble with this. i'm pretty computer illiterate...do i just type in that <{br}> when I'm in the middle of typing my entry? I tried turning the convert line break option off, then back on...but it didn't make a difference.

    You need to answer "Convert line breaks?" with "Yes". That should work (without having to use any
    as a forced break. Be sure that you don't have a cached version lingering in your computer's memory that would prevent the change from showing up.
